FAQs

About Sessions & Booking

  • The easiest way is to reach out for a free 30-minute consultation call first! This gives us chance to chat about what you're looking for and see if we're a good fit. You can email me or use my online scheduling page. After our consultation, we can book your first proper session.

  • Online therapy sessions: £58 per hour
Walk and talk therapy sessions: £58 per hour (+ your own parking fees may apply in some locations)

Payment is due 24 hours before your session via bank transfer. I find this simple approach works best for everyone.

  • I understand therapy is an investment, and I have limited spaces available for reduced fees. Let's have a conversation about what might work for you—I believe everyone deserves access to support when they need it.

  • Most people start with weekly or fortnightly sessions, then we see how it feels. Some clients naturally move to monthly sessions when they're feeling more grounded, while others prefer the consistency of regular weekly check-ins. We'll figure out what rhythm works best for you.

  • Honestly, this varies so much from person to person. Some clients feel they get what they need in just a few sessions, while others choose to work with me for months or even years. I've learned that healing happens on its own timeline, not ours. We'll regularly check in about how you're feeling and adjust as needed.

Walk and Talk Therapy

  • It's exactly what it sounds like—therapy while walking gently through beautiful natural settings. Instead of sitting in a room, we have our conversations while moving through woodlands in Worcestershire and South Shropshire. Nature becomes like a third person in our therapeutic relationship, offering its own wisdom and perspective.

The session is always adapted to fitness and energy levels, some sessions we might pause and sit, others we might find a nice spot and spend the whole session soaking in a view.

However, don’t let the name put you off, we can find a location to suit your needs. Everyone can benefit for therapy outdoors.

  • Everyone could benefit!

    It's particularly helpful if you:

    • Feel more relaxed and open when moving rather than sitting still

    • Find that nature helps you think more clearly

    • Are dealing with anxiety (gentle movement is naturally calming)

    • Like the idea of therapy feeling less formal or clinical

    • Have tried traditional therapy but want something different

  • This is a really important question. While we choose quiet routes, there's always some possibility of encountering other people when we're outdoors. We'll discuss this thoroughly before your first session and plan our routes carefully to maximise privacy. Your safety and comfort are my top priorities.

  • Comfortable walking shoes (definitely no flip flops!), layers you can add or remove, and something waterproof just in case. I'll send you a complete guide when you book, but don't worry—it's much simpler than it might sound.

  • We have backup plans! Some locations has covered areas where we can still have meaningful conversations if it's really pouring. Light rain often doesn't stop us—many clients find there's something quite therapeutic about being in nature during gentle weather. If there’s severe weather warnings or storms we will likely change to an online session or reschedule.

  • Beautiful woodland locations in Worcestershire and South Shropshire, including Wellness Woods near Bridgnorth and Burlish Bike Park in Stourport. Both have parking, toilet facilities, and peaceful walking routes.

  • I use Zoom for my video calls. I'll send you simple joining instructions before our first session—no need to download anything or create accounts.

  • Don't worry, this happens sometimes! We'll have agreed on a backup plan beforehand—usually switching to a phone call so we can continue our session.

  • Just a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or phone), and a private space where you feel comfortable talking. A good internet connection helps, but we can work around most technical hiccups.

Online Therapy

About My Approach

  • I work quite intuitively and create an approach that's unique to you. There are no generic worksheets or rigid treatment plans—instead, we develop tools and insights together that actually fit your life. I also weave in nature-based metaphors and honour any spiritual perspectives you might have.

  • I'm a fully qualified and insured psychotherapist and counsellor, registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS acc). This means I've completed extensive training in therapeutic approaches and continue with regular professional development to keep my skills current.

My training (Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy - 2020) covered person-centred therapy as well as integrative approaches like parts work (IFS), CBT techniques, psychodynamic and attachment skills and trauma-informed practice. I also specialised in online and telephone counselling in 2020, which taught me how to create meaningful therapeutic connections across digital space.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent nine years as a children's nurse in the NHS, working in neonatal care and on a specialist burns ward. This healthcare background gave me a deep understanding of how emotional wellbeing impacts physical health, and taught me about resilience, compassion, and the healing power of human connection.

I'm fully insured for both online and outdoor therapy work, and I maintain regular supervision with experienced practitioners to ensure I'm providing the best possible support. I also commit to ongoing training—because this work is constantly evolving, and I want to keep growing alongside it.

All of this is important for your safety and trust, but what I hope matters most is that you feel comfortable with me as a person and confident that my approach feels right for your needs.

  • Absolutely! Whether you're drawn to tarot cards, crystals, moon cycles, or any other spiritual practices, you're welcome to explore how these fit into your healing journey. I believe these aspects of yourself deserve space and respect in therapy.

  • These terms are used interchangeably, and it often comes down to personal preference. I'm qualified as both a counsellor and psychotherapist, so I use both titles. What matters more is my integrative approach—I draw from different techniques depending on what feels most helpful for you at any given time.

Practical Questions

  • Life happens! Just give me 24 hours notice and we'll find another time that works for both of us. If something urgent comes up, let me know as soon as you can and we'll figure it out together. There's only a cancellation fee if sessions are missed without notice and without emergency circumstances.

  • I take your privacy seriously. I'm registered with the ICO and follow all data protection guidelines. My notes are kept offline in a secure, locked location, and your personal details are stored separately from session notes. Everything is coded so you can't be identified from the notes alone. You can access your notes anytime, and they're kept for 7 years after we finish working together.

For online sessions, please make sure your devices are updated with security software and use passwords where appropriate.

  • No, I focus on working with individuals aged 18 and above.

  • I work with clients throughout the UK. For insurance and safeguarding reasons, I'm not able to provide therapy to people outside the UK.

Getting Started

  • We'll have a relaxed 30-minute conversation about what's bringing you to therapy, how I work, and whether we feel like a good fit. There's no pressure to commit to anything—it's just a chance for us to get to know each other a bit, check the vibes and see if my approach feels right for you.

  • That's completely normal! Starting therapy takes courage, and it's okay to feel nervous. During our consultation, we can talk through any concerns you have. Many of my clients have told me they wished they'd started sooner, but we all begin when we're ready.

  • Trust your gut feeling after our consultation call. You should feel heard, understood, and like I "get" who you are. If you're drawn to nature, value authenticity, and want space to explore all aspects of yourself, we might be a great fit.
